Site 3, Post 1
Today was a good day on my quest to continue building my Google AdSense empire. In one day I got a lot done. In fact, site 3 is complete for the time being.
Niche: Consumer/Shopping
Work completed:
1. Registered domain.
2. Created and uploaded 10 pages.
3. Created and submitted five articles for directories.
4. Began on-page SEO.
5. Social bookmarking and other off-page SEO.
It was nice to get so much work done on this site. I am excited about the niche, as well as the estimated cost per click. Of course, just like all my other sites, it takes a while for them to be indexed, to attract traffic, and to receive clicks.
Site 1, Revenue 1
It is amazing how quickly some of my AdSense sites begin to make money. At the same time, it is hard to understand why many of them sit for a month or so before they bring in a dime. Site 1 received its first click yesterday:
Revenue Details:
1. 1 click
2. $1.03 earned
Although this is a small amount of money, it is exciting to me for a couple of reasons. First off, and most importantly, it shows that I selected a pretty good niche. Anything over $1/click is what I am looking for. Along with this, it always seems like the first click is the most difficult. Now that I know everything is moving along as it should, I can sit back and wait for things to pick up.
I am hoping that site 2 follows the same path and earns its first click soon enough. In the meantime, I am going to continue building more sites while closely monitoring those that are already active.
Site 2, Post 3
Today was a big day for site 2. In fact, I probably put more time into this site in one day than most. Fortunately, I got on a roll and just kept going until everything was where I wanted it to be.
Work completed:
1. Customized WordPress backend including theme and plugins.
2. Uploaded 10 pages.
3. Submitted five articles to article directories.
4. Began on-page SEO.
5. Social bookmarking and other off-page SEO.
For now, it looks like site 2 is complete. Along with site 1, pages will begin to get indexed by the major search engines and traffic will start coming in. Hopefully within the next couple of weeks it will begin to generate some money. Even though I am going to leave things alone for the time being, in the near future I will be adding more content, submitting more articles to directories, etc.
Site 2, Post 2
As site 1 continues to age and get indexed by the search engines, I have been working hard on site 2. Slow and steady wins the race, and I have been completing a solid amount of work each day.
Work completed:
1. Wrote five articles for directories.
At this time, I have 10 pages ready for the site as well as five articles for directories. Now, the last step in the process is uploading the content, customizing a theme, and beginning with some basic SEO work. I plan to work on these details tonight and into tomorrow. From there, site 2 will be on pace with site 1 and I can continue forward.
I know a lot of you guys and gals have asked questions, especially via email. In addition to my replies, I will be using your questions for posts in the near future. Hopefully this will help everybody who is following along.
Site 2, Post 1
As noted yesterday, I am moving on with site 2. Of course, this does not mean that site 1 is complete by any stretch of the imagination. There will be plenty of updates to come.
Niche: financial services
Work completed:
1. Registered domain.
2. Created 10 pages.
For me, writing content comes easy. It took approximately two hours to register the domain and write 10 keyword rich pages of 350 words or more. Helping me move quickly is the fact that I tend to choose topics that I am familiar with.
Tomorrow I plan on uploading these articles and beginning work on the SEO side of things. In the meantime, I will continue to research new niches while keeping an overall eye on my ever growing AdSense empire.
Site 1, Post 2
Yesterday, I made the first post for Site 1. This is a follow-up with additional work completed thus far today.
Work completed:
1. Submitted five articles to article directories.
2. Social bookmarking and other off-page SEO.
At this point, the site is not yet indexed by Google. Through my experience, this usually comes within a few days of adding the first content so hopefully by the end of the week things will be where I want them.
What next?
Well, this site is off and running and I am happy with its progress after only two days. Once it is indexed and the directory articles are approved, it should climb in the search engines with a bit of additional work. Soon after, a few dollars will start rolling in.
It may be hard to believe, but this is the point at which I usually move onto another site. Does this mean that this one is complete? Absolutely not. But the point is to keep moving, and that is what I plan on doing. Don’t worry, every step I take will be documented here!
Site 1, Post 1
As I move forward, I am going to give each site a name based on the number in which it is “completed.” Since this is the first site, it is only natural to name it “Site 1.”
Niche: business services
Work completed:
1. Customized WordPress backend including theme and plugins.
2. Uploaded 10 pages.
3. Began on-page SEO.
As you will see, I already had the 10 pages written for this site. In the future, I will include more information on when I do this, how long it takes, how I select keywords, and much more.
This is just the beginning of Site 1. Although I am on track, there is a lot of work to be done. In the near future, probably tomorrow, there will be another post on the next step that I take with my AdSense sites.
I know this is not the most detailed post, but if you have questions feel free to contact me or leave a comment!
Welcome to ChrisAdsense.com
This is the first of many posts on ChrisAdsense.com – I hope you are ready for the information to come. As you will find on the about page, the goal of this blog is quite simple: to teach others to make money with the Google AdSense program through my first hand experiences. In other words, the blog will show you what steps I am taking on the road to increase my AdSense income.
What is with the name?
My freelance writing blog is called ChrisBlogging.com. I figured I would stay with the “Chris” prefix with this blog, and quite possibly any others that I start in the future.
What types of posts can I expect?
As noted above, most posts are going to be related to what I am personally doing to increase my AdSense income. This will include everything on how many pages I put on my sites to keyword research to search engine positioning and much more. Simply put, if something happens with one of my sites I am going to show you guys and gals.
Of course, there are some things that I have to keep private. For instance, I do not plan on releasing the URL’s of my sites – this would not be in my best interest. Along with this, the AdSense Terms of Service disallow the sharing of particular details of my account.
What about your Income?
Right now, I earn a part-time income with the program. I am a full-time freelance writer, but am very interested in earning more money through AdSense in the near future. I plan on sharing my income numbers, but only from sites that I build from here on out. It would not make sense to include past sites that I have been working on for many years. They are aged, have tons of content and links and are already earning hundreds of dollars per month. Instead, it is my goal to show you how to build your AdSense income from the ground up.
My Benefits
I started this site for two reasons:
1. I enjoy helping others who are interested in making money online and quitting the rate race. My freelance writing blog has become very popular over the years, and the freelance writing course that goes along with it is consistently full. It feels great to help so many people get started on their quest to start their own business.
2. Accountability. I am human, just like the rest of you. There are days when I feel like slacking off in one area or the next. This is more so true with my AdSense sites than my freelance writing client work. With the help of this blog I will be able to keep track of my progress, while also taking accountability for all my actions. If you are expecting new information and I don’t get it to you, I will be disappointed in my progress. This should help to keep me on track and moving forward day after day.
Be sure to stop back for regular posts. Along with this, take the time to subscribe to email updates as well as my RSS feed.
Thanks for stopping by!
